A journey through the Lord’s Prayer
PRAYER. How would you describe it? Mystery – Inspiration – Comfort – Silence? Even after many years following Jesus, many say they still find it a bit strange, a bit alien. And yet, there’s still that sense that prayer is where we should feel most ‘at home’.
So this Lent is all about this ‘home’ of prayer, with each week focusing on a phrase from the Lord’s Prayer, bringing insight into a different aspect, a different type, of prayer. There will be video material, and plenty of opportunity for discussion – and for practising together what we discover on our ‘journey’.
There will be four sessions during Lent itself, beginning on Tuesday 27 February; we’ll have a break over Easter before continuing with the second half of the course. All are welcome to attend.
Sessions will be led by Rev’d Jo and Rev’d Phil, and will take place at Phil’s home on Tuesday evenings, at 7-8.30 pm, and then repeated at Ormesby St Michael’s Church on Wednesday mornings, at 10-11.30am on the following dates:
1. Why Pray? | Tue 27 Feb OR | Wed 28 Feb |
2. Adoration | Tue 5 Mar OR | Wed 6 Mar |
3. Petition | Tue 12 Mar OR | Wed 13 Mar |
4. Intercession | Tue 19 Mar OR | Wed 20 Mar |
EASTER BREAK | ||
5. Unanswered Prayer | Tue 23 Apr OR | Wed 24 Apr |
6. Contemplation | Tue 30 Apr OR | Wed 1 May |
7. Listening | Tue 14 May OR | Wed 15 May |
8. Spiritual Warfare | Tue 21 May OR | Wed 22 May |
PLEASE NOTE: If you need to switch between the days for any particular week, that’s fine. And don’t worry if you can’t attend all the sessions: just come when you can, and all will be well!
