Phil Rodd

Revd Phil Rodd

Team Vicar (designate)

Phil originates from south London.  For much of his working life, his focus was on the use of language, firstly teaching Spanish and French in central London, and then working with Christian mission organisations and travelling throughout Latin America.  He later trained for ordained ministry at Ridley Hall in Cambridge, served as curate at Holy Trinity Norwich, and then from 2008 to 2023 was vicar at St Andrew’s Eaton, also in Norwich.  He was licenced to serve in the Flegg Group of churches in July 2023 – so is still new to these parts, and is really enjoying getting to know all the various churches and their local communities.

Phil still loves his languages.  He’s also a keen cyclist – and last year used a sabbatical to go on a cycle pilgrimage from Norwich to Santiago de Compostela in Spain.  He also loves music, especially choral music, and has spent almost 20 years as a member of the Keswick Hall Choir, during which time the choir has performed works in English, Latin, German, Russian, French, Italian, Spanish and Peruvian Quechua!

Phil is married to Cathy, a Teacher of the Deaf specialising in early years work.  They have three adult children, who all work for the NHS.
