Welcome to Flegg Parish Churches
Village Churches: One Church
Welcome to the website of Flegg Parish Churches. Flegg is an area situated in the Norfolk Broads and the east coast of Norfolk on the former Island of Flegg. This area is now defined as being between the River Thurne, the River Bure and the North Sea, and is made up of numerous villages. Nearly all the villages have their own picturesque church, and yet they all differ in character. Flegg Parish Churches is the family of these nineteen churches, of which sixteen of them still have worshipping communities, although many Christians worship across more than their own village church. These churches share in one ministry, although serving many villages, and provide an inclusive safe space where people can explore the big questions of life, and grow in their journey of faith including developing their own ministry. Explore these pages and calendar to find out how you can join in, whether you are new to the area, a visitor, or simply interested to find out more.
2025 Lent Course - 'Another Story Must Begin'
Humanity and the Power of Grace
This year’s Lent Course is based on the 2012 award-winning film adaptation of Victor Hugo’s Les Misérables. As we look at some of the main themes and characters of this story, we’ll explore together the power of grace and kindness, where life is hard. The story is heart-rendingly beautiful, and so is the music, but what might it say to people in the 21st century concerning the opportunities for a new start, for redemption, that so many of us long for in the face of so many struggles?

The course is open to all, whether or not you have seen the film or the stage musical – or even read the novel!
